I’ll find you the right realtor
If you're looking to buy or sell a home anywhere outside of New York State, I can help you find the right climate-aware realtor. Agent referrals of this kind are common, but typically the referring agent's involvement ends with the introduction. I do three additional things that make a big difference:
Before making a referral, I interview agents to evaluate their excellence and capacity to evaluate the climate resilience of homes using my framework.
Once you talk to and decide to work with an agent I’ve referred, I share with them the resilience framework and the tools for applying it.
When you identify a home you love that you and your agent believe is climate resilient, I will perform a final resilience assessment remotely to make sure nothing is being overlooked. (Think of it like getting a second opinion before making an important medical treatment decision.)
Please reach out if you’d like to learn more.
A referral connects you with an agent who understands why climate resilience is an essential quality in a home and, with guidance from me, knows how to conduct an assessment.
I worry about climate risk now so you won’t have to later.
It goes without saying that you’re in charge of the buying process throughout, including which agent to work with, and can make changes along the way as you see fit.
Today’s combination of high prices and growing climate threats means it’s essential to take climate resilience into account in buying a home. Resilience is the home amenity that matters more than all the others.
If you want an agent who can be a second active mind to help you access the right climate risk data, prudently filter homes, and ultimately advise on this high-stakes judgment, I can help you find the right person.
Saving for the future while owning a climate vulnerable home is like pouring water into a leaky bucket.
